January: New Beginnings and Digital Frontiers
The year started with a high-octane environment at Delmege Insurance Brokers. We approached the first month with a collective sense of grit, focusing on setting a strong foundation for the quarters ahead. Personally, January marked a significant milestone with the official launch of the Talkinsurance.lk website—a platform I envisioned to bridge the knowledge gap in our industry.

February: The Spirit of Teamwork

In February, we stepped out of the office and onto the lanes for the Amana Takaful Bowling Tournament. It was a fantastic reminder that the camaraderie built through friendly competition often translates into better collaboration in the boardroom.
March: Operational Intensity
March was a whirlwind of activity. It was a “Busy Month” in the truest sense, characterised by intense teamwork as we closed out the first quarter and solidified our strategies for the rest of the year.

April: Culture and Family Joy
April brought a beautiful balance of professional tradition and personal celebration. We enjoyed the Delmege Avurudu Office Celebration, which kept our cultural heritage alive in the workplace. On a more personal note, my heart was whole as my son turned 4. Watching him grow is undoubtedly my most significant “achievement” every year.

May: Spirituality and Global Perspectives
Following our Avurudu celebrations at the office, I took the opportunity to disconnect and gain a fresh perspective by visiting Europe with my family. Travelling across borders always serves as a reminder of the global scale of the insurance industry and the universal need for protection and peace of mind.

June: The End of an Era
June was an emotional month as we bid farewell to Mr Prasanna Welagedera, the CEO of Delmege Insurance Brokers. Prasanna was more than a leader; he was a mentor and an astounding guide who played a pivotal role in shaping my career. His departure marked a significant transition for the company and for me personally.

July: A New Chapter in Leadership

July 2025 became a defining moment in my professional life. I was incredibly honoured to be promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Delmege Insurance Brokers. Adding to this pride, Delmege was celebrated as the No. 01 Insurance Broker for the 2nd Consecutive Year. It was a testament to our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence.

August: Thought Leadership on a Global Stage
In August, my insights on leadership and the insurance landscape were published in Global CEO Magazine. Sharing the story of our journey at Delmege with a global audience was a humbling experience that reinforced the importance of thought leadership in our sector.

September: International Recognition

September took me to Goa, India, for the Global Insurance Excellence Awards, organised by Asia Insurance Review in partnership with Bajaj Allianz. Receiving an award on such a prestigious stage was a career highlight, representing not only my work but also the high standards we are setting in Sri Lanka’s insurance market.
October: Chartered Excellence and Celebrations

October was a month of personal growth. Alongside celebrating my birthday, I was proud to retain my Chartered Marketer status. It was also a pleasure to attend the HNB Assurance Night, reconnect with industry peers, and celebrate our collective successes.

November: 175 Years of Legacy

November was historic as we celebrated 175 Years of the Delmege Group. Being part of such a storied legacy is a profound responsibility. Congratulations to all our outstanding team members and award winners for their dedication and achievements.
December: Grounding and Connection
As the pace of the corporate world slows down, December has been dedicated to what matters most: family and friends. From quiet dinners to lively reunions, these moments of connection provide the perfect conclusion to a high-achieving year.

Ultimately, 2025 has been a year of “coming of age”—both for my professional journey and for the initiatives I hold dear. From the global stage in Goa to the quiet family dinners this December, I have learned that leadership is as much about listening and learning as it is about guiding. As we prepare to turn the page, my focus remains steadfast: to continue transforming the insurance landscape through Talkinsurance.lk and to lead Delmege Insurance Brokers toward even greater heights as we build on our 175-year legacy. Thank you to my mentors, my incredible team, and my family for being the anchor to my sail. Let’s make 2026 a year of even more profound impact, shared success, and relentless innovation.
Onward and upward.
